Project

South Lanarkshire College

Client : South Lanarkshire College

Location : East Kilbride

The works initially comprised of the replacement of 104 No. air conditioning units throughout the majority of the college, and required the removal of the existing installation, suspended ceilings and partial re-decoration of Classrooms and Common Areas. The college remained live during the construction phase and careful consideration was given to developing a sequence that would allow works to be carried out safely, causing minimum causing disruption to students and staff, whilst also ensuring critical services were maintained.

Externally, new CCTV Cameras were installed.

The original plan was to repair the existing flat roof, however after careful inspection the condition was such that it was decided to replace it with a new system. This involved the removal of all existing roof top plant and equipment and temporary re-location at ground level. The existing flat roof coverings were removed and the existing concrete deck was exposed and prepared to receive a new insulation liquid applied roof covering. The new covering used tapered insulation, carefully designed to tie into the existing drainage system. Upon completion of the new roof covering all mechanical plant and equipment was craned back into position, tested and commissioned.
